2014 – 15 Team

 

EU_Darnella Darnella Banks is currently a 3LE in New York Law School’s evening division and a member of the Center for Business and Financial Law at New York Law School.  She is also an AML compliance Director at Morgan Stanley and a participant in NYCBar-Alliance of Securities and Finance Education program (ASAFE).  Darnella’s anticipated practice area of law is securities finance, where she will focus on private equity in the asset management space.  Darnella also has a substantial background in Securities regulation and foresees a future career in the international arena that will utilize her extensive U.S. securities and finance experience.
EU_Aurelie Aurélie Bertoldo was born in Belgium and moved to the United States 2 years ago. She earned her masters in History and Egyptology from the Catholic University of Louvain in 2007 and 2009. She has undertaken a PhD in Egyptology since 2009. She is currently a 2016 J.D. Candidate in New York Law School and an International Legal Fellow of the Center for International Law. She has interned at the chambers of Hon. Katherine Levine at the Kings County Civil Court since Fall 2014. She has focused her upper-level studies on International and European law.
EU_Cristina Cristina Carreño is a 2016 J.D. candidate at New York Law School. She received her bachelors degree in international business from New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2012. She is interested in pursuing a legal career in international business or maritime law. During her first summer in law school, Cristina interned at the chambers of the Honorable Thomas R. Vena at the Essex County Courthouse. Cristina is fluent in Spanish and Galician. She enjoys traveling, and often visits Spain to see her loved ones.
EU_Chloe Chloe Coniaris is a 2016 J.D. Candidate and  an associate of the International Law Centre at New York Law School. She received a joint honours bachelors degree from the University of St Andrews in Scotland in International Relations and History of Art. While at St. Andrews, she a completed a dissertation, which received an honours distinction, that examined the role of state failure in exacerbating the Somali maritime piracy phenomenon. She has previously clerked for Commissioner William Doyle at the Federal Maritime Commission in Washington D.C. Chloe is interested in pursuing a legal career within an international maritime or business capacity.
EU_Anne Anne Easton is an Associate of the Center for Business and Financial Law and the Institute for Information Law and Policy at New York Law School. She is in her second year and is expected to graduate in May of 2016. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy, Politics and Law with an emphasis in International Relations from the University of Southern California in 2011. During her time at New York Law School, Anne has worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Gerald Lebovits at the Civil Court of the City of New York and has contributed to a Criminal Procedure Reform in Namibia project for Lawyers Without Borders in conjunction with McDermott, Will & Emery LLP. Anne has also participated in several competitions for the NYLS Dispute Resolution Team as both a competitor and a coach wherein she developed an understanding of transactional law and strengthened her negotiating skills. Anne has focused her studies primarily on corporate and financial law, with a concentration in intellectual property, as well as state and federal litigation. Prior to law school, Anne worked at Fluor Corporation, an international, engineering, procurement and construction management company, as a Contracts Specialist within the Contracts and Procurement Department.
EU_Elisabeth Elisabeth Schiffbauer is a J.D. candidate at New York Law School, graduating in May 2015. A ballet dancer before law school, Elisabeth completed her undergraduate studies through the Alonzo King LINES Ballet BFA Program at Dominican University of California. Throughout law school Elisabeth has held internships at the Model Alliance, Luxottica U.S. Holdings Corp., PVH Corp., the International Labor Rights Forum, and has additionally served as a research assistant to Professor Ari E. Waldman. In March 2014, Elisabeth traveled to Bangladesh with STZ Films to assist in the filming of a documentary focusing on the rights of garment workers. Last summer, Elisabeth participated in Cornell Law School’s Paris Summer Institute for International Law. She is currently a research assistant for Professor Jethro K. Lieberman, and an intern at Medenica Law PLLC.
